Also, apparently blogging is bad for your health. Three well-known technology bloggers have had heart attacks in the last 4 months according to the New York Times. The stress of maintaining a well thought out news blog is just too much work and very stressful for some. And this news story also brings another issue to my attention…
How we get our news. Usually, all I need to do is open up my Google homepage to see the top 5 news stories of the day in World News, US News, and Technology News. And all of those links go to other news sites, whcih get their news from other news sites, which get their news from what they read on BBC, or Reuters, or any other site for that matter. How to we know if any of these stories are even accurate at all? I remember a time in grade school when we would play a game where the teacher would tell a student some thing like “I like to wear purple tennis shoes.” and that student would tell another and that student would then tell another and another and another until it went through all 30 students. The last to hear the sentence would tell what they heard aloud and instead of saying, “I like to wear purple tennis shoes,” they would say, “I ate the carrot that was blue.”
And finally… next time you get into a fight with your significant other, remind yourselves of these people, and try to resolve the issue by just talking and listening to your partner. Name calling and bad attitudes will only get you stabbed and beaten.
