Here in the suburbs and somewhat wooded areas of Chicago, there tends to be a high ratio of animal related vehicular homicides. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has stated that since gas prices are so high, and that we had suck a snowy and icy winter, they cannot afford to scoop up all of the dead animals on the roadways. The animals that may be found in the middle of the roads will be removed as they can cause a problem for drivers, but animals found on the side of the road will be left for scavengers. IDOT says they do not predict a health issue by doing this.

However, I can predict that the scarce cougars in the area are definitely going to get a lot fatter.
